Apple Barn is only three miles south of Chichester.

This beautiful city is an historic market town dating back to Roman times with remains to be found nearby in both Fishbourne and Bignor. Chichester Cathedral has an 84m spire with a green copper roof and can be seen from miles around.  The Chichester Festival Theatre has just had a 23 million pound renovation and offers a full programme of performances throughout the year, many of which preview here before going to the west end.

To the south of Chichester are the local beaches of West Wittering, Pagham and Selsey which are all just a short drive away. West Wittering is famous for its vast expanse of sand and shallow waters which are perfect for children and water sports. Chichester Harbour has many local quays and marinas such as Bosham, Itchenor and Dell Quay all perfect for a walk and pub lunch/supper as well as sailing and boating opportunities. Pagham Harbour nature reserve is popular with bird watchers with many species of both migratory and resident wildfowl.

To the north of Chichester lie the Beautiful South Downs which have National Park Status and endless walking and biking trails. The views from the top are stunning being able to see right across Chichester to the coast.  Goodwood Racecourse, Motor Curcuit and Aerodrome have a regular programme of events throughout the year including the famous Glorious Goodwood race week in July and the Festival of Speed and Revival weekends.
